IRENE ANTYMIS It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother on July 13, 2004 at the age of 89. Irene is predeceased by her beloved husband John (1987) her sisters, Nellie and Stella; her brothers, Peter, Mike and Steve; and her best furry friend Tang. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Raymond Antymis and wife Linda, daughter Linda Paul and husband Harold, daughter Darlene Gordon and husband George of BC; her grandchildren, Cindy Fernandes and husband Alex, Darren Paul and Christine Brown, Russell Antymis and wife Kathy, Daria Nowell and husband Chris; her great grandchildren Danielle, Jessica, Nicholas, Sarah and Jennifer; and her sisters, Anne Hlady and Ella Hlady, sisters-in-law, Pearl Antymis, Alice Cronk and husband Eddy. The happiest days of her long life were the retired years spent with John at the cottage in Belair, the annual trips to BC to visit her daughter Darlene and husband George, and all the special moments spent with family and friends. Her family loved her Ukrainian cooking and she loved to share it. Irene was always a vibrant and energetic woman, who in her later years continued to enjoy gardening and a game of bingo, cards or carpet bowling with her many Lions Place friends. A most appreciative thanks to the paramedics, Cowichan District Hospital staff (especially Dr. Mountain & nurses Sue & Brenda), Rev. Golabek & Honey Forbes (coroner). She will be dearly missed by all her Vancouver Island friends. Friends and family are invited to a celebration service of her life with prayers to be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Tuesday, July 20, 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 10:30 am at Cropo Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers for the service are Brian Yakimoski, Gary Yakimoski, Russell Antymis, Darren Paul, Alex Fernandes and Chris Nowell. We will miss you dearly and love you always. You will forever be in our hearts. Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044
