Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDELIA CECILE NEILL (nee MICHAUD) On July 14, 2004, Delia Cecile Neill succumbed to cancer, after a mercifully short battle. All who knew her will agree that no mother ever loved her children more than she did. A strong and loving woman, a mother to eight, she was sadly predeceased by four of her children, two in infancy, Beverly and Patrick, her sons, Spencer in 1978 and Mickey in 2003. Four children survive her, Louise (Cliff Teichrib) of Stonewall, MB, Dennis (Gail) of Thompson, MB, Peggy (Ken Weidman) of Winnipeg and Brian (Hasina) of Irving, Texas. She will be greatly missed by her ten grandchildren ranging in age from 37 years to two years old. They are Laura, Kelly, Lisa, Danny, Pamala, Sheila, Ryan, Kimberly, Kevin and Jasmine. She also leaves behind ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Delia was born on June 30, 1925 to Joseph and Marie-Louise Michaud of St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba. She was raised in this French speaking community. Delia later learned to speak English when the family relocated to St. Boniface. Predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters, George, Jeanne (Dave) Butler, Albert (Eleanor) and Adrienne, to whom she had been known as Mignon meaning little one. She is survived by her sister-in-law Katherine Michaud. To her friends she was known as Del, the tall skinny French girl with a quick wit and sense of humour. In 1943, she attended a dance held at Eatons Annex on Donald St., there she met a young Canadian soldier by the name of Reginald Neill from Dauphin, MB. The two married in 1944 and Reg went to work in the mines. For several years they moved around Northern Manitoba and North Eastern Ontario. Although this was a hard life, it was one Delia truly enjoyed and fondly reminisced about often. In 1959, she moved her family to the Elmwood area of Winnipeg, where she devoted herself to raising her children. The world will seem a colder place with out you, Mom. We will always remember your unbound love and kindness. No one ever gave more of themselves to their children and grandchildren than you did. You never forgot a birthday or anniversary. Your gifts (especially your knitted ones) and cards will remain as keepsakes in our families for many years and your memory will be cherished forever. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with viewing to be held on Sunday, July 18 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. also at the Chapel. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
