MAX SCHROEN It is with saddened hearts that we announce the death of Max Wilhelm Schroen, devoted husband of Ruth for 53 years (nee Duesterhoeft), beloved father and grandfather, on July 14, 2004 at the Deer Lodge Centre. He is survived by his four children, Christa, Phillip (Esther), Lori and Judy (Raymond) and six grandchildren, Clyde, Lana, Derek, Alexis, Lee and Morgan. He is predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Wilhelmine; and his brother Ernie. Max was born March 8, 1927 in Woodland, CA and grew up near Westlock, AB. Moving to Winnipeg in 1955, he used his many skills at different occupations to support his family. His love of the outdoors was evident in the joy he took in bee-keeping, walking and spending time at the cottage, whether he was fishing or sitting in his favourite shady nook at the shore. He particularly enjoyed the time he spent during the annual summer trips he took with his family who will keep his fond memory in their hearts always. We would like to thank the staff at the Victoria General Hospital, Riverview Health Centre and Deer Lodge Centre for their service and kindness. Thank you to family and friends who have offered support at this difficult time. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. What enriches our lives is not how long we have with a person But the depth of love we are fortunate enough to share.
