WILLIAM (BILL) T. SOMERSET August 7, 1925 - July 15, 2004 After a valiant battle with cancer, Dad died peacefully surrounded in love by family and friends. Dad is survived by his children Sandra, Bill Jr., and Cathy (David). He was also the proud grandfather to Christian (MaryAnn), Jordana, Landon, Duncan, and McKenna, and a great-grandfather to Alexander. Dad also leaves behind his special lady friend Bo Vuckovic; his brother Jack (Valerie) his brother-in-law Harry Cockshott; his nephews, David (Kerry) and Robert (Inge) and his niece Shirley (Ed). He was predeceased by his father and mother, Samuel and Bridget Somerset, and his sister, Florence Cockshott. Dad was born in Woodridge, MB where he lived until he left to serve as a paratrooper in the Second World War and again in the Korean Conflict in 1950. After the war he returned to Winnipeg where he resided until his passing. Dad worked at T.C.A. (Air Canada) for over ten years. In 1966, Dad became the proud co-owner of Frank Automotive Supplies for over 30 years, serving Winnipeg, Calgary, Lethbridge, and Edmonton. Dad enjoyed a good joke, a cold drink, and spending time with family and friends. Special thanks to all of the wonderful nurses and doctors on 7A West and in S.I.C.U. at the Saint Boniface Hospital for their extraordinary care. Your compassion and support is greatly appreciated. A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, July 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
