MARGARET ISOBAL MURIEL (GUPPY) BASARABA Peacefully passed on into the Lords hands on July 14, 2004 with her loving children Donna, Craig, daughter-in-law Vicki, and special friend Evelyn by her side. She finally succumbed after a long battle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Donna Lee Friesen (Jim Scribner) of Kenora Ontario, Craig Andrew Basaraba (Vicki) and grandchildren, Desiree, Dustin, and Madison Basaraba of Winnipeg, and brother Hudson Guppy of Toronto, Ontario. Margaret was predeceased by her father William Guppy, mother Violet Sirman, and sisters, Jessie, Edith, and Dorothy all of Toronto. Margaret was born in Toronto, Ont. on November 11, 1921, and moved to Winnipeg when she married her husband Henry Basaraba. She was a member of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church. Margaret was a homecare worker for Family Services of Winnipeg for a time and excelled at helping take care of families in need with particular focus on the children whom she worked with. Margaret always lived her life for her children and grandchildren, especially youngest granddaughter "Madi", her special treasure. Mom was a gentle but strong lady always thinking of others before herself, even to the end. Special thanks to her neighbor Dorothy Sunka who was an angel to mom in her last days at home, her dear friend Doris Harrow, special long time neighbours "daughter" Louise and her mom Millie Anderson, and favourite niece Darlene Stinson. Particular special thanks to Dr. Garcia, Andrea, Marlene, Evelyn, Wayne and all staff of 3E at Riverview Health Centre. You all made a difference in our mothers life and we will always be grateful for the kindness and care given to mom. At moms request, cremation has taken place and a private gathering of friends and family will be held to honour and celebrate her life at a later date (to be announced). Contributions in her memory can be made to Riverview Health Centre if so desired. "Mom we love you, you are the wind beneath our wings, and you will live in our hearts forever."
