HARRY CHERNICK Harry Chernick passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on July 7, 2004 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by his first wife Esther after 54 years of marriage as well as his brothers, Jack, Lew and his sister Edith. Harry is survived by his wife Anne Katz-Chernick and his extended family Gayle, Marsha, Natalie and Matthew. Harry will be deeply missed by his children, Victor (Sophie), Neil (Vera), Grant (Catherine) and his grandchildren, Wade (Sandra), Joanne Thomson (Ron), Cory (Tracy), Jonas, Daryn, Dylan, Mara; and his great-grandchildren, Alex, Jeffrey, Mirabelle, Michael, Ethan and Caleb. He will also be lovingly remembered by his dear friend Bert Shuckett and her family. In his career, Harry owned and operated, along with his brothers Jack and Lew, Reliable Bird Co. and Reliable Doll Hospital, which was the first of its type and only doll hospital in Canada. At the height of his business career, Harry utilized his photographic abilities and opened and operated, along with his brothers, National Photo Supply for over 35 years in the city of Winnipeg. In addition to his joy of life, his many interests included golf, fishing, bridge and pinochle, Harry will be long remembered for his many years with the Rosh Pina choir. He loved singing and enjoyed an international reputation, particularly on cruise ships and in piano bars, as "Winnipeg Harry." The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and attention of our father.
