Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEFAN VALDIMAR STEFANSON Peacefully on Friday, July 16, 2004 at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital with his family by his side, Stefan Stefanson passed away at the age of 87. Stefan was born on January 20, 1917 in Winnipeg. The family had homesteaded in the Stony Hill District east of Lundar two years prior. Stefan attended the Rocky Hill School and grew up on the family farm. His father passed away at a young age so he took over the farm and lived there his entire life. In 1949, he married Agnes Hartman and together they raised their two children. Stefans whole life was dedicated to his family and his farm. He loved working outdoors and enjoyed the country to its fullest. He loved caring for his animals, enjoyed haying season and, in later years, leisurely fixing things around the farm. He was always interested in community affairs and served as a trustee for the Rocky Hill School for many years. Stefan is survived by his loving wife Agnes of 55 years; son John; daughter Donna (John) Kostyshyn; sister Helga Scharf; brothers-in-law, Joe Hartman, Anton Hartman; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Moldowan, Mary Iverson and Eva Dicks; along with several nieces and nephews and many close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Jon and Gudbjorg Stefanson; sisters, Jonina Stefanson and Kristjana Moldowan; brothers-in-law, Alec Moldowan, Bill Scharf, John Hartman and Jack Hartman; sisters-in-law, Ann Sturtevant and Lena Anderson. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21 at the Lundar Legion Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow at the Otto Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Neil Burnet and the nurses and staff at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital with special thanks given to Laura for all her loving care.
