He became a Presbyterian minister, serving in Nova Scotia and Ontario. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Grace; two step-children; his parents, William and Jessie and one sister Nettie Watterson. He is survived by two children and their families and one brother Robert Reid of Myrtle, MB.
