GERALD GORDON SAMPSON Gerald Gordon Sampson, peacefully, after a lengthy battle with cancer, passed away at the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, on Saturday, July 17, 2004, in his 78th year. Survived by his loving wife Diane (Sayer) of 51 years; daughter Lynn (Paul) Woroshow and son Stewart (Shirley) Sampson; grandchildren, Eric, Sarah and Andrew. Dear brother to Gwen (Bill) Zroback, Al (Colleen) Sampson and Harold (May) Sampson. Gerry was 54 years a Master Mason; a life member of Pequonga Lodge #414 in Kenora, ON. He was a life member and Past "Z" of Toronto-Antiquity Chapter #91 of Royal Arch Masons and a life member Emmanuel Preceptory #83. Gerry was also a life member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Freemasons, having been raised to the 32nd degree in the Moore Sovereign Consistory in 1962. Gerry was a proud Shriner, and a Past Pipe Major and co-founder of the Rameses Shriners Pipe Band. He was also a member of the Fountain Hills Masonic Square Club and the International Association of Turtles. Gerry was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #344. Past commanding officer of the 78th Fraser Highlanders also a member of the Honorable Guard and of the Honorable Henchmen. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 22 at the St. Andrews Memorial Presbyterian Church, 24 Stavebank Rd., Mississauga, 905-278-8907 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Credit Valley Hospital-Cancer Wing or a charity of choice.
