BARRY GIBSON Suddenly on July 16, 2004, Barry Gibson passed away at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital with his family by his side. Barry grew up in Winnipeg. His creative nature became evident early in his life. After working at Wiggins Systems he moved on to become the Art Director of the Hudsons Bay Co. at the tender age of 22 years. There he met his wife Joyce. Barry and Joyce then moved to Sifton, MB to work for the Mary Maxim Co. Barry was the original creative designer for Mary Maxim sweaters which grew to be an international success. Moving back to Winnipeg, Barry co-founded Gibson and Sveinson Advertising. After many successful years Barry sold the business and moved to Minaki where he started the Minaki Trading Co. Barrys passions were his family, golf and music. In Winnipeg Barry was involved with the Banjo Bandits and in Kenora with the Friends of Dixieland. Barry is survived by his wife Joyce of 52 years; son Kelly and Jenny, Will and Charlie; daughter Pat (Tim Fleury) and Michael Timmy, Darla and Timea; daughter Jan (Rob Bennett) and Abby and Hannah; brothers, Jim Gibson (Shirley) and Jack Gibson; and many nieces and nephews. Dads keen wit and sense of humour will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He always had the ability to have fun and make people laugh. His joyful spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
