ROBERT (BOB) HIRAM WATSON May 24, 1934 - July 21, 2004 Bob passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre in the presence of his family following a hard fought battle with Alzheimer Disease and Cancer. He remained at home until July 14, 2004. Predeceased by his parents, Dr. Thomas and Edythe Watson; in-laws, Robert and Mayme Noyes. Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Lorna (nee Noyes) son Robert Alexander and wife Micheline; and adored grandchildren, Laura and Scott. Also left to cherish his memory are sisters, Pat Williams (Ed) Grand Bend ON., Beth Radcliffe (Russ) and Nancy Morrison (Don) of London, ON. Other family members include brother-in-law Bob Noyes; sisters-in-law, Colleen Reynolds (Rob) Vancouver, BC, Orla Noyes (Edmonton) and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was fortunate in having so many caring friends and neighbours who helped us through some difficult times, especially the Swans, the Ashtons and the Steeves. Bob was born in Lucan, ON where he was involved in many sports, excelling in hockey and baseball. As a member of the "Lucan Irish" hockey team he enjoyed many triumphs including the OHA Intermediate Provincial Championships in 1954. His greatest pride was an exhibition game with the Montreal Canadians in 1952 where he was presented with the game puck. Employment brought him West in 1960 and on August 12, 1961 he married Lorna with whom he shared a life of love and joy. Over the years Bob developed a real passion for golf and played regularly throughout his retirement. The family wishes to express their thanks to the Doctors and staff at the Riverview Health Centre and to Bobs home care workers, especially Brian. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park", 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba or a charity of choice. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY 1291 McGillivray Blvd - 1-877-230-0438
