FRANK THEODORE FERGUSON Peacefully and swiftly as a bird in flight, on the evening of July 22, 2004, Theodore made his heavenward journey to the Creator. Theodore was born October 18, 1918, eldest son of Frank and Edith Ferguson. He was the loving husband of Lois, his wife and partner for 52 years. Theodore lived a full life on the farm at Elm Grove, always living less than a mile from his birthplace except for the four years he had served in the Second World War. A man rooted in the land, Dad had a gentle spirit and walked the earth with kindness, reverence and respect. Content in simplicity, Dad took great pleasure in afternoon naps, Sunday afternoon drives, picnics and weiner roasts with family. Dad was a hardworking, dedicated farmer with a soft-spoken voice and cheerful disposition and a gentle manner with both animals and people. He was a compassionate and committed father. Dad was a faithful member of the United Church, first at South Plympton and then Dugald and always had a strong connection with his God. Theodore was predeceased by his parents, a baby sister Florence Olive, his brother Earle and his wife Joanne. Memories of Theodores life are cherished by his wife Lois; son Neil and wife Diana, son Donald; daughter Frances and partner Al Baronas; grandsons, Travis and wife Marie, Darryl, Ellery and Stuart; and great-granddaughters, Ciel and Ani; by his brother David and wife Pamela; nieces and nephews, along with numerous friends and relatives. The family extends thanks to Dr. Fredette of Ste. Anne and to the home care team for wonderfully supportive help. A warm thanks, too, to all the staff at Kin Place in Oakbank for their compassionate and loving care and for making a home for Theodore in their hearts during the last year of his life. A service to celebrate Theodores life will be held on Monday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with Rev. Jeff Cook officiating. Interment to follow in the family plot, Sunnyside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Theodores memory may be made to the Alzheimers Society or the Kin Place. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
