GEORGE COBB George Cobb of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at the age of 82 years. George will be lovingly remembered by one son Gerald Cobb of St. Albert, one daughter Loisann Green of Surrey, BC, one stepson Roderick Danhauer of Strathmore, one brother Walter Cobb of Winnipeg, one sister Ethel Trouten of Niagara, two grandchildren, and four stepgrandchildren. George was predeceased by his wife of 32 years Charlotte. George was born in Winnipeg, attended Cecil Rhodes school and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute then worked with General Electric at Pinawa and Great Falls before moving to Alberta. George retired after 25 years with the Alberta Government, having worked in Red Deer, Hinton, Wainwright, and Edmonton. During retirement he enjoyed 21 winters as a snowbird in Mesa, AZ. George spent many enjoyable hours curling in the winter, and golfing in the summer. George was fortunate to have been taught the sport of curling by Ken Watson, and faired well in the many competitions he entered. One of Georges greatest pleasures was baking and sharing the fruits of his labours with others. A gathering to celebrate Georges life was held at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 - 67 Street) on Friday, July 23 at 7:00 p.m. Condolences can be emailed to condolences@reddeerfuneralhome.com and will be forwarded directly to the family.
