BERNEST MIKOLUFF It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved brother and uncle, after a brief illness on Friday, July 23, 2004 at the age of 69 years at the palliative care unit, St. Boniface Hospital. Bernest was born in a two-room log house on September 11, 1934 in the R. M. of Lac du Bonnet, Lowland district. During his lifetime, Bernest worked on various construction projects, with his last employer being Cowin Steel in Winnipeg. Bernest resided at St. Andrews Place, 905 - 425 Elgin Avenue. He was predeceased by his father Louis and mother Carrie. He is survived by his brothers: John (Catherine), Walter (Betty), Rudy (Bernice) and Norman (Bertha). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as three uncles, Joe Mikoluff, Nick Mazur and Walter Mazur (Evelyn). Friends may view on Monday, July 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue E, Beausejour. Funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral chapel, with viewing an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers will be his brothers John, Walter, Rudy, and Norman Mikoluff and Gary Glowasky and Lawrence Glowasky. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or to the Palliative Care Unit of the St. Boniface Hospital. The family would like to express their thanks to the St. Andrews Place Complex, The Health Action Centre and the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit for their care, kindness and compassion offered to Bernest during his brief illness.
