AMALIE MOLZAHN Peacefully after a lengthy illness Amalie Molzahn (nee Gerke) passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Tuxedo Villa Care Home. She reached an age of 95 years and five months. Amalie was predeceased by her husband Friedrich in 2000 and two brothers, Adolf and Sigmund Gerke. Amalie was born on February 17, 1909 in Poland. On June 1, 1930 she married Friedrich Molzahn and had a happy marriage of 70 years. They had three children Otto, Erna and Selma. In 1952, she immigrated to Canada from Germany. Shortly after this she joined Immanuel Pentecostal Church and was an active member until she moved to Tuxedo Villa Care Home where she lived for about eight years. As family we want to thank all the nurses and staff on Station 2 for their kindness and good care they gave Oma. It was much appreciated. May God bless them richly. Left to mourn Amalies death are her children Otto and wife Cecelia, Erna and husband Art, Selma and husband Art; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister Emmi Mattern of Kelowna, BC; and many relatives and friends. Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 26 at Immanuel Pentecostal Church, 955 Wilkes Avenue with viewing one hour prior to the service. Pastor E. Buss will be officiating. Interment Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carla and Randy Redmann working in the Home of the Good Shepard Orphanage in Brazil.
