Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK JOSEPH BOCKSTAEL After a valiant struggle with cancer, Frank Bockstael passed away on July 23, 2004. Frank is survived by his loving wife Gabriella, daughter Cheryl (Doug) McMahon, son Derrick, and two grandchildren (Kelsey and Owen). He is also survived by four sisters, Margaret (Noel) Langedock, Nancy (Ray) Reeve, Rose (Jim) Beaulieu, all of Winnipeg and Anne (David) Condon in Colorado. He was predeceased by his parents, Marc and Marie Bockstael. Born October 25, 1935 in St. Boniface, Frank attended Provencher School and graduated in 1952. Frank and Gabriella were married in St. Boniface on June 4, 1960 at the Belgian Sacred Heart Church and were blessed with children, Cheryl in 1961 and Derrick in 1964. He was a dedicated father and very special papa to his grandchildren. Frank was a lifelong member and volunteer of the Belgian Sacred Heart Church in St. Boniface until it closed in 1993. He articled as a Chartered Accountant with John Shelly & Company and was admitted to the Manitoba Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1959. He joined the federal government in 1961 and worked for Audit Services - Consulting and Audit Canada in Toronto, Ottawa and in Winnipeg. He retired in January 1993 to spend precious time with his family and grandchildren. Frank thoroughly enjoyed his work and continued to provide periodic consulting services to Audit Services until his illness slowed him down. He was a voracious reader of novels and there wasnt a crossword puzzle that he couldnt solve with his incredible vocabulary. Special thanks to the Victoria General Hospital, Oncology Department and the staff on the 5th Floor for their care and kindness during Franks illness. Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass celebrating Franks life will be held on Thursday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, corner of Donalda and Munroe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria General Hospital, Oncology Department Expansion or to the St. Alphonsus parking lot renovation fund.
