BARBARA MINSKY On July 22, 2004, Barbara Minsky, our mother, sister, grandmother, auntie and friend passed away. Barbara was born in Warsaw, Poland on December 13, 1913 and arrived in Canada shortly there after. Barbara was a woman that wore many hats becoming a mother figure to her sisters, Mary and Helen when their mother passed away at a very early age. Barbara then became the wife of Fred and then a mother to Garry, Mary and Mike. Barbara was predeceased by her son Mike in 1999 and Mikes wife Jean in 2003. Barbara had one grandson Darryl (Chris) and only recently was able to welcome another daughter-in-law Etta into her life. Mom; Thank you for wiping our tears, encouraging us to try again, guiding us when we were lost, offering advice even when we werent looking for it, your sense of humour and for those great Sunday Ukrainian Dinners! Mom always put her family and friends first. She will be sadly missed but will never be forgotten by those close to her. "Well always keep a little something that Mom left behind and that will make us feel good again". Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (South of the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre.
