Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY IRENE CARTER (TANNER) The family of Dorothy Irene Carter sadly announces her passing at Beacon Hill Lodge in Winnipeg on July 25, 2004. Born in Winnipeg where she lived most of her life - Dorothy attended Victory School and Rupertsland College. During the Second World War, she was a member of the Womens Army Corp and after a short period in Edmonton returned to Winnipeg where she worked for many years in the hotel industry. She is survived by three children, Charlotte (Leon) Root of Calgary, Maurice (Butch) (Barbara) Carter of Hamilton, and JoAnne (Bob) Lowenberger of Winnipeg; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Laura and Charles Tanner of Winnipeg and two brothers, John (Jack), RCAF 1941 and Lawrence (Larry) in 2003. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 31 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. A special thanks to the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge for their wonderful care of our Mother over the past several years. "Only when you drink from the River of Silence shall you indeed sing, and when you have reached the Mountain Top, then shall you begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs - then shall you truly dance."
