KENNETH MURRAY DAVIDSON July 12, 1953 - July 25, 2004 "I have fought the good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith." It is with heavy hearts that we announce the devastating loss of our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, neighbour, coworker and friend at Riverview Health Centre. With his family at his side, Ken succumbed bravely and with his characteristic strength on July 25, at age 51, to the cancer which he had been battling since it was discovered in January of 2003. In 1977 Ken began his career with the Winnipeg Fire Department. He truly loved his job and the people he was privileged to work with. He retired a Lieutenant, November 2, 2003, with over 26 years of service. The staff at Riverview are an amazing group of people and we thank you for your wonderful and gentle care of Ken. Thanks also goes to the homecare nursing team. The absolute centre of Kens existence was his family, home and friends. He was a loving husband, a proud and supportive father, a solid friend and neighbour. With Lynns help, he renovated their old house and turned it into a comfortable family home. You always were, and always will be, welcome at Ken and Lynns. He was an easy man to know and a good companion. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Blais, Scott Stothers, Don Myers, Rock Beatty, Bob Hatton and Wayne Kehler. Ken is survived by Lynn, his best friend and wife of 24 years; and his sons, Scott and Tom, who in his eyes were, and always will be, the sun and the moon - his everything. He is also survived by his mom and stepfather, Lila and Omer Bernardin; dad and stepmother, Murray and Merle Davidson; and sister Joan Glover and sons, Matthew and Steven. A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 29 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 3030 Notre Dame Ave. (NBI Services) and a celebration of Kens life will be held on Friday, July 30 at the Masonic Temple, 420 Corydon Ave. at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4A6 or the Firefighters Burn Fund, 202 - 666 St. James St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 3J6. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
