Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILMAR JOHN ERICKSON Suddenly at his home, Wilmar John Erickson passed away at the age of 73 years on Monday, July 26, 2004. Wilmar is survived by his brothers Lloyd, William, Joe (Alice), along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Sigurjon and Ragnheidur Erickson and his sister-in-law Helene. Wilmar lived all his life in Lundar, MB. He went out to work at the young age of 15, starting with CPR Telegraphs. Wilmar later had various jobs with Manitoba Telephone System, Manitoba Hydro and later was a cook for Sigfussons Transportation and Midwest Diamond Drilling. Wilmar was a member of the Lundar BPO Elks for 35 years. Wilmar had a great love for hockey, and although he did not play it, he was always involved as Equipment Manager for the Lundar Falcons. He also kept a large scrapbook of the early years of hockey in Lundar. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30 at the Lundar Community Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. Everyone in attendance can consider themselves honorary pallbearers for Wilmar on that day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grettir Amateur Athletic Association, in care of Hope Sigfusson, Box 334, Lundar, MB, R0C 1Y0 or to a charity of ones choice.
