ANNE ELENDIUK (RIZNEK) (nee BOBIE) August 12, 1916 - July 27, 2004 (Granny Annie to all) Peacefully on July 27, 2004 surrounded by her family, Anne went to eternal rest and to be with her beloved husband, Bill. Throughout her 87 years Anne was loved and respected by all as a mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Anne was predeceased by her husband Bill of 47 years in 2001; parents Steve and Katherine Bobie; brother Peter Bobie and grandson David Riznek. She is survived by her daughter Nola (Fred) Anderson; son Robert (Evelyn) Riznek. Left with a lifetime of memories is her five grandchildren, Debbie (Dr. Bob) Lotocki, Kim (Glen Stefanyshen) Anderson, Todd (Theresa) Riznek, Fred Anderson Jr. and Bill (Shauna) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Ken (Shannon), Gary (Jasmin) and Bryan Lotocki, Nolan and Lauren Stefanyshen, Braden Rogerson, Kelsey, Hannah and Kevin Loutit, and Jade Anderson. Anne was born in Winnipeg and raised in Transcona. Following her first marriage she resided in Port Alice, BC, where her two children were born and then returned to Transcona where she raised her children as a single parent. In 1955 she met and married her beloved husband Bill and together they completed raising her children. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law Anne was loved respected and cherished by all. She was considered the matriarch of the family who everyone looked to for love, guidance and as an example to follow in their daily lives. Anne was an accomplished seamstress, where she took care of all the families sewing needs. She worked for many years at DAllards, Jacks Fashions and Woolco. She retired to become a full time partner and caregiver to husband Bill. Annes whole life evolved around family, from going out for lunches with her granddaughters, to preparing big Ukrainian meals for family occasions, to babysitting and entertaining her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Moms neighbours and friends at Stornaway on the Red, for their friendship and support to her and Bill. She felt her life was complete when she and Bill took up residence in the home of her dreams, she was never happier. The family would like to thank doctors, Yip and Tan of the St. Boniface Hospital for all of their care of our mother and Granny. Also thanks to her family physician Dr. Ross. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Internment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice. Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044

  • I remember you all so very well. I saw your Mother's obituary in the Wpg. Free Press when I was at our cottage in Ontario but did nothing at the time as I knew I would be devastated if you did not remember me as I have never forgotten any of you. My sincere condolences.
