Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCARRIE ELIZABETH DALGLIESH 1916 - 2004 The family of Carrie Elizabeth Dalgliesh sadly announce her passing on July 28, 2004 at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 88 years. She is survived by one sister, May Styles (Carl) of Souris, MB; nieces and nephews, Doreen (Mike) Chernoff and Sherwin Dalgliesh of Vancouver, Ken (Jean) James, Lary (Annette) James, Linda Dalgliesh all of Winnipeg, Robert James of Oregon, U.S.A., Charles (Val) Dalgliesh of Brandon, Kathleen (Dan) Sheffield of Hamilton and Richard (Mariette) of St. Adolphe and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Many special friends will miss her greatly. Carrie was predeceased by her parents Janet (Swanton) and Thomas L. Dalgliesh, as well as sisters, Agnes (Roland) Dennison, Jessie (Stanley), James and brothers, Lind Dalgliesh and Edwin (Shirley) Dalgliesh. Carrie was born March 11, 1916 at Langvale, MB. She was raised on the family farm. She received her early education at Margaret, MB. She continued her high school in Brandon, MB. She continued on to Normal school in Winnipeg 1943 to 1944. Her teaching career took her to Hargrave, Minnedosa, Neepawa and finally to Hasting School in St. Vital. One year was also spent teaching near London in England. From here she travelled widely in Europe. Other trips took her to Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, Fiji and many points in Canada and the U.S.A. Carrie loved music! Her voice graced many choirs and she was a skillful pianist. She extended her musical education at University of Manitoba. Her last assignment in teaching was that of music teacher and choir leader. She loved to play bridge and over the years belonged to several clubs. Carrie spent her last seven years in Riverview Health Centre where she received wonderful care. She enjoyed entertaining her friends by playing the piano. Thank you to the staff on C2 for their kindness. There was a special group of friends who visited regularly and brightened her life. Manitoba Branch, 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway.
