LUZIE AGNES WENZLIK (HARAZIN) It is with great sorrow that we announce that Luzie (Oma) Wenzlik passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital on Monday, July 26, 2004 at the age of 96. She was born Luzie Agnes Harazin on August 21, 1907 in Germany. In 1929, she married Wilhelm Wenzlik. They had three children, Werner, Christa and Guenter. She was a refugee in Germany twice in her lifetime, once in 1918 and then again in 1945. After the Second World War, she lived in Nordenham, Germany until she immigrated to Canada in 1956 with her son Guenter. She lived with immediate family all of her life until moving into the West Park Manor in 2000. Oma enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, playing Canasta, 31 and Bingo. She enjoyed getting together with her friends for "Kaffee Klatch" at the German club, Sears and Eatons. She loved to watch the Young and the Restless and Lawrence Welk. She was a second mother to her three grandchildren and enjoyed her two great-grandchildren. Oma was a kind and generous person who enjoyed life and loved to laugh. Oma is survived by her daughter Christa (Otto) Goldau; her three grandchildren, Lucille (Ron) Saull, David (Lorelei) Goldau, Gordon Goldau; her two great-grandchildren, Jeff and Michael Saull; and one sister Victoria Beeger in Germany. She is predeceased by her husband, her sons, her parents and her two brothers and two sisters. A private family service was held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on Thursday, July 29. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the Grace Hospital for their compassionate care. We would also like to thank the staff at the West Park Manor for their excellent care of Luzie Wenzlik (Oma) for the last four years of her life. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Salvation Army, Public Relations, Unit 500, 55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8 or the charity of your choice.
