HELENE BIRKMYRE With great sadness, and after a courageous battle with cancer, we announce the passing of Helene Birkmyre at the age of 87 on July 30, 2004 at the Grace Hospital. She was predeceased in 2000 by her husband David of 51 years. Left with a lifetime of memories are her daughters, Diane (Bram), Nancy (Bill) grandchildren, Laura (Brent), Lindsey (Tim), and Kaelyn; great-granddaughters Brooklyn and Keirra. She is also survived by her brother Mitchell (Phyllis). Mom had a love for bridge, whist and collecting stamps. In her later years she enjoyed playing solitaire and tackling word searches. Special thanks to the nurses and support staff at the Grace Hospital for their care and compassion. Cremation will have taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 3 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or a charity of your choice.
