EVELYN JULIUS Peacefully on Thursday, July 29, 2004 at the Victoria General Hospital, Evelyn Julius (nee Cruickshank) passed away. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Linda; son Gary (Sherry) granddaughters, Christy and Kelly; her loving sister and friend Helen (Nell) Gundrum; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jack; her parents, George and Annie Cruickshank; sister Mary Locke and brothers, Jim and Ken. Mickey, as her family and friends knew her, was born on January 6, 1919 in Winnipeg. She grew up in Elmwood where she met and married her sweetheart John (Jack) Julius. They were married on June 8, 1940 and spent 56 wonderful years together until Dad passed away in 1996. In 1950 they moved to St. James where they raised their two children. Mom was the perfect stay at home Mom and she took great pride in her childrens achievements. Her caring and loving ways extended to her grandchildren of whom she was extremely proud. Unfortunately when Dad passed away a part of Mom passed away too. She spent the next six years living with her daughter who provided her with the care and companionship that she so dearly needed. During the last year and a half Moms health deteriorated. True to the way she had lived all her life, however, she continued to display the love, respect and affection for her family and for people in general. Mom we know that once again you are with Dad. We love you and we will forever miss you. The family wishes to thank the Poseidon Care Centre for taking care of Mom during the last six months. We especially wish to thank our close friends for the compassion and caring they provided her. Thank you to the staff at the Victoria General Hospital who made our last few hours with Mom as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We laughed, we cried, and we remembered a very special and wonderful lady. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 10 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may meet at the cemetery gates at 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Always in our memories, forever in our hearts.
