Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL OSTOPOWICH With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Michael Ostopowich, on Thursday, July 29, 2004. Michael was born on April 26, 1922 in the north end of Winnipeg. He served as a mechanic in the Air Force during the Second World War, and joined the C.N.R. after his discharge in 1945. He worked his way up from fireman to engineer, alongside his brother Bill, and retired after 33 years of service. He was predeceased by his father Joseph in 1928; his mother Anna in 1951; his beloved wife Nell in 1986; and his siblings, Mary, Elsie, John, Bill and Joana. He is survived by his son Michael (Jackie) daughters, Joan, June and Teresa (Joe) grandchildren, Melanie, Darren, Randy, Charles and Joanna; and great-granddaughter Jayden. The family wishes to thank the staff of 5 Unit 1, of Seven Oaks Hospital, for their kindness and compassion and also Hospice and Palliative Care Manitoba. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 5, at 5:00 p.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment to follow at a later date at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
