Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAURILLE ROSARIO PLESSIS It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and caring friend, Maurille Rosario Plessis on July 24, 2004 at the age of 91 years. Maurille was born in St. Malo, MB on October 30, 1912 to Alphonse and Marie-Louise (nee Lacerte). He lived with his family on a farm near Laurier, MB and eventually purchased his own farm outside of McCreary. He continued to farm until 1942 when he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army. Maurilles life then took him overseas where he took an active role defending our country in the Second World War. He was transferred to Le Regiment de la Chaudiere then was injured in 1944, returning home to continue farming. He started working with construction throughout Manitoba and Alberta, mostly with Hatch Construction. Any job Maurille did, he did with a passion and shared many stories and fond memories of good times encountered. With many skills and talents Maurille put them to use by starting his own successful construction business - "Plessis Construction Ltd." In 1977, Maurille married Kay McDougall. Together they lived in McCreary and enjoyed many good times together. Fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with the family were a few things Maurille enjoyed doing best! Following retirement, Maurille and family took on the project of building the cabin. Many hours and hard work went into this adventure and the final product really showed off. He was proud of this accomplishment and many great moments were held and will continue at "The Plessis Family Rendezvous." Maurille was an active lifelong member with the McCreary Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 173. Kay and Maurille enjoyed many evenings gathering with friends for laughs as well as bingo night. Anyone that knew Maurille will have a precious gift for a lifetime. His kind and gentle nature was seen by many, especially his family. A cheery grin, the sound of a chuckle, constant stories and jokes were often how you would see Maurille. Maurille was not only loved by his immediate family, but by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends had the utmost respect for him. They all shared special moments with Maurille in which he enjoyed immensely. He leaves to mourn with wonderful cherished memories, his wife Kay; son Jack, daughter-in-law Marilyn McDougall of Winnipeg; daughter Kim, son-in-law Don Unrau of Winnipeg; son Mark Plessis and Cindy Law of Dauphin; three grandchildren, Natasha and Jordan Unrau of Winnipeg and Nathan McDougall of Fort Frances, ON; sister-in-law Elda Plessis; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and furry friend "Mickey".
