Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM JOSEPH ANDERSON "BIG JOE" July 16, 1929 - July 31, 2004 In sorrow and joy we announce the passing of our father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother and friend, Joe Anderson. He entered into eternal rest on July 31, 2004 at the Health Sciences Centre. He leaves to mourn his wife of 55 years, Ruth; his children, Matilda (Joe) Parisien, Lillian Thompson, Gertie (Fred) Hourie, Lorna (Alex) Ryle, Clifford (Terry), Allen (Della), Bryden (Marianne), Percy (Ethel), Darwin (Ardell) and Kurvis (Vivian) two grandsons whom he raised, Derek (Rose) and Frank (Cheryl) and his "adopted son" David Baer; his brother Edward (Myrtle) Anderson; his sister, Bertha Sanderson and his aunt Ida McLean; his in-laws, Allan Thompson, Roy (Priscilla) Thompson and Ruby Lafreniere; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joe was predeceased by his father Alex Anderson; his mother Matilda Anderson; his brothers, Cubby, Steve and Dave Anderson; his sisters, Mary Thompson and Christina Sinclair; one infant sister and grandchild; his aunt Mary Woodhouse; and his cousins, Rupert and Gladys Woodhouse. The family wishes to express thanks to the staff of 7th floor at Central Park Lodge and the staff of G4 at Health Sciences Centre, also to the Fairford Chief and Council and Anderson Family Funeral Home. A wake service will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 5 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Wilfred Bruce and Jim Anderson officiating. Both services will be held at the Fairford House of Prayer, Fairford, MB. Interment will follow at the St. Helens Anglican Cemetery. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, with the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.
