Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES ANNIE FIDLER (ANGUS) 1918 - 2004 Peacefully on August 1, 2004 at her residence in the Lundar Personal Care Home. Born in Cypress River on November 10, 1918. Lived in Somerset before moving to Myrtle, MB where she received her schooling. She took her Grade XII in Roland Collegiate and graduated from Winnipeg Normal School in 1938. After receiving her Teachers Degree, she taught at Oak Point and McNab Schools before marrying Mel Fidler in 1942. She then made her home in Oak Point and did some substitute teaching in the area while she raised her family. She substitute taught at McNab, Radway, Clarkleigh and Gascon Schools. She went to Clarkleigh West School in 1964 for one and one half years, then went back to Oak Point Elementary School where she taught Grades three and four for eight years until her retirement in 1973. She was predeceased by her husband Mel in 1992; her parents, Alex and Ada Angus; her father and mother-in-law, James and Sydney Fidler; her brothers-in-law, Doug Wakely, Albert Cowie and Lawrence Doying; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Angus, Helen Cowie and Kay Doying. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon of Winnipeg and Carol (Dave) Chartrand of Oak Point and two grandchildren, Cory (Suzanne) of Winnipeg and Myrna of Winnipeg; two brothers, George (Hazel) Angus of Carman, Jim Angus of Winnipeg; one sister Jessie Wakely of Winnipeg; many nieces and nephews. Mum was always a great worker in the community. She was very dedicated to her work as a teacher and did her best at anything she took part in. She enjoyed her job as teacher and put in many long days from early morning till sometimes in the evening. In latter years she took things as they came, never complaining and accepting things as they were, as she had to move from her home to the Seniors Home and then on to the Personal Care. She took it and accepted it all, even as her quality of life deteriorated because of her Parkinsons. Right to the end she tried to take as active a part in doing the things she had always enjoyed and that was in helping someone else. Mum moved to the Lundar Senior Citizens Home in Lundar in 1994 and later to the P.C.H. in late 2001. The family would like to give special thanks to the girls who did Home Care for her when she was in the Seniors Home in Lundar and more recently to all the staff at the Lundar Personal Care Home who were so good to her and did all they could to make her as comfortable as possible during her residence there. Following Mums wishes, cremation has already taken place and a family memorial service will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Lundar Senior Citizens Home, Lundar, MB R0C 1Y0. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
