Left to mourn his passing and to cherish his loving memory is his beloved wife Muriel; children, Irene (Wayne), Brian (Shawne) grandchildren, Heather, Steven and Michelle; sister-in-law Dorothy; nephew Donald (Mona) niece Linda (Frank) and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Emma; brothers, Hugh and Ronald. Bert served in the 6th Canadian Field Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery, 13th Battery. While overseas he met and married Muriel, his wife of 56 years and after he retired from Burns Foods, they enjoyed many years of travel. Bert loved sports and was forever present cheering on his son and grandchildren at all their games, earning him honorary membership on several different teams. He gave up his two favourite games, curling and golf, due to ill health. However, he was determined to keep active and he and Muriel joined Vital Seniors for carpet bowling, enjoying the friendship of the members. In accordance to Berts wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place on Tuesday, August 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Mary Magdalene Church, 3 St. Vital Rd.
