HENRY (HARRY) DONALD WEBSTER September 1, 1914 - August 1, 2004 Peacefully on Sunday, August 1, 2004 Harry Webster passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre. Harry leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Isabel (nee Brown) his sons, Ron (Marlene) of Winnipeg, Don (Shirley) of Regina; his grandchildren, Tina (Travis), Jeffrey (Marta), Shawn (Wanda), Ronnie (Michele), Trevor, Joey (Cheryl), Jordan, Elena and Jeremy; and his great-grandchildren, Jamie, Chelsea, Jaidyn and Hope. Harry was predeceased by his parents John and Catherine (nee Driver), three brothers and four sisters. Harry was born and raised in Montreal and worked in the printing trade for 40 years. He married the love of his life on November 23, 1940 prior to heading overseas. During the war he served with the Royal Canadian Artillery and the Royal Canadian Army Service Corp., until his discharge in 1946. After retiring from the printing trade in Montreal, Harry and his lifetime partner moved to Winnipeg in 1980 to be closer to family. Harry returned to the workforce securing employment with the Ogilvy and Richardson Grain Companies, where he made many new friends. Harry was a family man who dedicated his life to providing for the material and emotional welfare of his loving wife of 64 years and his sons. He had an outgoing personality and loved telling stories and jokes. He was a source of joy and encouragement to all who came to know him. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Grace Hospital and Deer Lodge Centre for making Harrys last days as comfortable and peaceful as possible. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 5 at 12:30 p.m at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 or to a charity of your choice.
