THOMAS D. IRVINE Born in Paisley, Scotland, November 1, 1905. Died quietly in his sleep, Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at Lions Personal Care Centre. Tom moved to Canada at the age of 22. Like many others, he struggled through the depression years, finding work wherever he could. During this time, he developed a lifelong interest in the rights of the "common man". He was married in 1937 to his beloved Anne, who died in 1992. He spent the last 10 years of his life in the Lions Manor where he was typically known as "the life of the party". He loved to argue politics, but most of all, he loved to dance and he loved to sing. He will be sadly missed by his three children, Margaret (and husband Gordon), Lorraine (and husband David) and his son Ian; by his grandchildren, Geoff, Andrew, Dane, Jimmy, Janet (and husband Tim), Elizabeth (and husband Scott) by his great-grandchildren, Hailey, Kendra and Randi and by his special friends, Doris, Shona and Mae. Interment service will take place at Chapel Lawn at 12:00 noon, Friday, August 6 and a memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Harvey Hall in the Lions Manor, at 320 Sherbrooke St. (North-West corner Portage Avenue). Many thanks to the staff at Lions Manor. Your care, kindness and patience is amazing. You are special people. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Toms name, to the Lions Manor, Recreational Department, 320 Sherbrooke St., Winnipeg, MB.
