THELMA JAMES (nee SLY) May 17, 1931 - August 3, 2004 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother this morning, August 3, 2004. Leaving behind to cherish her memory are her devoted husband Don; children, Linda (Ron), Larry (Lily), Diane (Al), Janice (Bernie), Cathy (Billy) and Carol (John) as well as grandchildren, Jennifer, Kim, Ashley, Michael, Adam, Kyle, Jeff, John and great-granddaughter Isis. She will also be greatly missed by her surviving brothers and sisters, Florence, Elmwood, Wilma, Shirley, Derek and sister-in-law Maureen. Thelma will be remembered as a kind, warm and generous soul, who loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She always put her family and friends ahead of herself. She loved to cook large family dinners, playing cards, knitting and baking. Thelma had an extremely sharp wit and a great sense of humour and loved to laugh. Memorial service will be held Friday, August 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
