THEODORE FRED KOSTYSHEN It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Theodore Fred Kostyshen. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of August 3, 2004 at the age of 99 years. Fred is survived by his son David (Janet) grandchildren, Jody (Gary Quilty), Anita (Greg Filmore) great-grandchildren, Dylan and Bryce Quilty; sister Sophie Shesky of Hull, QC; brother John of Kitchener, ON and also numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marcella in 1951 and second wife Doris in 1978; daughter Ellen in 1988; brothers, Bill, Peter, Nick and Mike; sisters, Katherine, Anne and Mary. He was born on December 17, 1904 in Western Ukraine. The first born to Mike and Nellie Kostyshen. At the age of three years, along with his parents, he came to Canada and settled in Fenwood, SK. Being the eldest he learned the meaning of hard work at a very young age. He and his first wife Marcella were married in 1945 and together they had two children. The greatest sorrow was losing her to cancer in 1951 and leaving him to raise the children. He did so with determination and pride. Fred spoke Ukrainian and English fluently and took a great interest in other languages. We would like to thank those who took the time to visit Dad especially Joe and Roger. He certainly enjoyed your company. Our appreciation also goes out to the dedicated staff at the Spruce Unit of Fred Douglas Lodge for their wonderful care and understanding. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Freds memory to the Fred Douglas Lodge, 1275 Burrows Ave. Vichnaya PamYat CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
