Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNELLIE (NAN) MCDONALD 1910 - 2004 On Thursday, August 5, 2004 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Nan McDonald passed away with her family by her side following a short illness. Nan is survived by her eight children, Myrtle Inkster, Phyllis (John) Swanson, Thelma Calder, Arlene McDonald, Don McDonald, Jim McDonald (Darlene), Henry (Sharon) McDonald and Darlene (Ken) Simon; 30 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and one brother Clifford Sabel. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford in 1975; sons Bill, Victor and Stan; grandchildren, Karen, Corrine, Todd and Donald; sons-in-law Glen Inkster and Tom Calder; sisters, Sybil, May and Doris; and brothers, Bill and Henry. Nan was born on February 7, 1910 in St. Peters, MB, one of six children born to Harry and Margaret Sabel. She married Clifford McDonald in November 1930 and together they had 11 children. She was a very loving and giving person, who had a heart of gold when it came to her family. Her door was always open to family and friends. In later years her favourite pastimes were crocheting and completing cross word puzzles and watching her favourite soaps and wrestling matches on TV. Friends and family may call for viewing on Monday, August 9 at 8:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 10 at 4:30 p.m. also in the chapel. Interment to follow in the St. Clements Cemetery. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ryckman and Dr. Antonenko for their special care and compassion and to the nursing staff for their loving care and tenderness.
