JEAN BERNICE SHUMILAK (HLADKI) (nee BUKOSKI) After a brief illness on Thursday, August 5, 2004 at the Beausejour Hospital, Beausejour, Manitoba Jean Shumilak, beloved wife of the late Kazmir Shumilak of Beausejour, Manitoba passed away at the age of 83 years. Jean leaves to mourn her passing children, Wayne Hladki (Pat), Rick Hladki (Irene Habing) and Carolyn Halowaty (Glenn) as well as her grandchildren, Peter and Kayleigh. Also surviving are sisters, Kay Krut and Minnie Surowich; by her brothers, Edward Bukoski, Johnny Bukoski and Cashmere Bukoski. She was predeceased by her first husband Peter Hladki in 1964 and by her second husband Kazmir Shumilak in 2003; as well as her parents Stanley and Caroline Bukoski; and her brothers, Stanley, Joe, Ted and Alfred; and her sister Pauline. Jean began working at the Beausejour Hospital shortly after her husband Peter passed away in 1964 and remained there until 1980. She loved gardening and her friends. She was especially proud of her family and her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Corder and the entire Nursing Staff of the Beausejour Hospital for the care and compassion shown to our mother during her stay, it will not be forgotten. Prayers will be said on Monday, August 9, at 7:00 p.m. from the St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, Beausejour, Manitoba. Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated on Tuesday, August 10, at 10:30 a.m. also from St. Marys with Fr. Owen Steeves presiding. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darryl Krut, Jim Bukoski, Bernard Shumilak, Peter Halowaty, David Surowich and Brian Bukoski. If friends so desire memorial donations in Jeans memory may be made to the Beausejour District Hospital. RUSSELLS of Beausejour, Manitoba are in care of arrangements.
