Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDORA GRACE STEVENSON (Zha Gha tay Migizi Sunshine Eagle) November 10, 1921 - August 6, 2004 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Dora Grace Stevenson (Zha Gha tay Migizi Sunshine Eagle) on August 6, 2004 at the Percy E. Moore Hospital, at the age of 82 years. Dora will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Chief Louis (Shirley), Stanley and Terry (Addie) her daughters, Joan Sinclair, Sarah Stevenson, Doris (Darryl) Bear, Linda (Lloyd) Stevenson, Wendy Stevenson (Jeff Crate) and Hazel Stevenson; 29 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; her extended family, Josephine Bear, Fern Stevenson, Rose Bradley, Ken (Judy) Stevenson, Richard (Mildred) Stevenson; sisters-in-law, Rachel Stevenson and Vi Stevenson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Dora was predeceased by her loving husband, Bethuel Stevenson in 2002; her father, John Stevenson; her mother, Sarah; brothers, Robert, Leonard, Gene and Henry Cook; son, Vernon; grandsons, Sean and Stewart; son-in-law, John Sinclair; brother-in-law, Mike Stevenson; great-great-grandson in infancy, Marcus Thomas; and by her sister-in-law, Annie Stevenson. Mom will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and sense of humour. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and expressed her unconditional love until the time of her passing. In addition to raising her 10 children, her greatest joys were tending to her flower garden, cooking and sewing. She attended many community events and was the President for the Senior Citizens Committee. She enjoyed travelling and sightseeing. Mom held a special place in her heart for her many friends, especially Elsie McPherson, Eleanor Thomas, Seymore Stevenson, Sherry Asham and Marlene Wuskynyk. The residents and staff at the Peguis Senior Centre were spoke of fondly and she expressed how much she was made to feel at home. We are grateful. The family would like to thank the Percy E. Moore Hospital staff, the Peguis Senior Centre staff and Florence Stranger for their care and compassion in making Moms time here comfortable. Thank you to the Peguis Council and to all who expressed their love and support. A wake service will be held on Sunday, August 8, at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 9, at 2:00 p.m. viewing will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the St. Matthews Anglican Church, Peguis, MB, with Rev. Barry Bear and Rev. Wesley Barrett officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Peters Anglican Cemetery. After Glow Id like the memory of me to be a happy one. Id like to leave on an after glow of smiles when life is done. Id like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
