JOSEPH "JOE" GANCHAR (JOSEF GANCZAR) On Monday, August 9, 2004 at the Health Sciences Centre, our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 83, after a lengthy illness. He leaves behind his wife Elsie, of 53 years; son Gerald (Bev) daughter Mary (Stan) Pogorzelec; grandchildren, Lisa, Kori, Krista, Jenna, Michael and Nicole. Born in Lvov, Western Ukraine on March 5, 1921, Joseph came to Canada in 1948. He was employed by Manitoba Telephone for 35 years and retired in 1986. Joe loved his garden, his roses and his family. He was always ready and willing to give a helping hand. A special thanks to all the Doctors, nurses and support staff of GH4, Health Sciences Centre for their special care. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 13, 2004, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Alphonsus Church, 300 Donalda. Ave. Viewing will be held one-half hour prior to Mass. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers are Stan Kowal and Peter Pogorzelec.
