Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN ROBERT MACHRAY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of J. Robert Machray at Tuxedo Villa on Sunday, August 8, 2004. He was born on January 14, 1914 in Winnipeg, MB, the only son of J. A. Machray and Emily Florence Machray (Drewry). Bob was predeceased by his parents, first wife Myrtle in 1986, sisters, Mary, Jean and Ruth. He is survived by his loving wife Joan, daughters, Tracy (Wes), Sandra (Don) and Marsha (Ron), grandchildren, Michael (Jolene), Carol (Randy), Wendy, one great-grandson Nathanael, nephew David Newman (Brenda), nieces, Peggy (Bob) and Joan, numerous out of town relatives and step-daughters, Bev, Judy and Val. Bob graduated from St. Johns College. He retired in 1978 from Monarch Life after over 40 years of service. He was a choir member for many years at St. Marks Anglican Church and he sand in the Winnipeg Male Chorus. He enjoyed dancing, sailing and travelling, especially in later years, when they enjoyed cruising and visiting his sister Christine in California. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 13 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. Many thanks for the care provided by the nurses and nurses aides at Tuxedo Villa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba or St. Marks Anglican Parish.
