DELORES SOPHIE ANNA ROBERECKI (nee EASTMAN) So very peacefully, our mom and grandma, Delores of Riverton, MB passed away at the Arborg Hospital on Tuesday, August 10, 2004. She is survived by her daughter Anna Marie; son Joel and his children, Tristan, Elysha and Jenna-Marie and their mother Nielle; son Leif and daughter-in-law Aggie and their children, Zachary and Emily; and their father Edward. Also her brothers, Rudy (Lillian) and Halli Eastman; and sister Lorraine Burton. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary (Eliuk) Eastman; brothers, Roland and Johnny; sister Gail; sister-in-law Connie and nephew Blaine Eastman; parents-in-law, Andrew and Anna Roberecki; sisters-in-law, Julie Bidochka, Olga Robertson, Verny Roberecki, Mary Stetz; brother-in-law Eddie Zaboroski and nephew Johnny Robertson. Mom was born and raised in Riverton where other than time spent in Winnipeg, B.C. and the Yukon, she spent most of her 66 years. Her family was the most important part of her life. She loved us unconditionally and treasured us as we were. She especially loved her grandchildren and she loved being a grandma! She gave lots of hugs and kisses and often told them "Grandma loves you!" Mom was a very talented lady. Like her mother Mary, there was nothing that she couldnt cook, bake, sew or knit! She absolutely loved cooking and everything tasted great. Grandmas cookie jar was always full and we never left home without a care package of moms goodies. She was an extremely talented sewer, a craft she learned from her mother on the old Singer treadle sewing machine. She was an especially creative knitter and made many one of a kind sweaters without using a pattern. Moms other passion was reading. She loved books and she encouraged us all to read. We will remember her loving manner, her ready smile, her sense of humour and her love of music. We were blessed to have her and we will miss her so much. We love you. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 14 at 12 noon at the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church in Riverton with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. Interment at the Riverton Cemetery followed by coffee reception at the church. Pallbearers will be her son Joel; nephews, Russell and Douglas Burton, Micheal Eastman, friend and cousin Gregory Grimolfson and "nephew" and cousin Larry Halyk. If desired, donations in her memory may be made to either the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church for building maintenance or to the Riverton Cemetery for beautification projects now underway (flower beds and signage). Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
