GLADYS LILIAN McCLENAGHAN It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Gladys Lilian McClenaghan at Deer Lodge Centre on August 6, 2004 after a lengthy illness. Gladys was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Lilian Felstead; brothers, Harold, Frank and Peter; sister-in-law Louise; nephew Andrew all of England; brothers and sisters in-law, Wilbert and Eileen McClenaghan and Myrtle and Bill Ogg of Saskatchewan. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of nearly 61 years, Mort, residing at Deer Lodge Centre; daughter Susan Wiste, Winnipeg; son David McClenaghan (Cheryl), Kelowna; grandsons, Christian Wiste (Jamie), Winnipeg, Paul Wiste (Christine), London, England, Michael McClenaghan (Sheila), Edmonton, Jon McClenaghan (Lori), Kelowna, Scott McClenaghan, Kamloops; granddaughter Tara McClenaghan, Kamloops; great-granddaughter Jordan. She is also survived by her sister Joyce Chapman (Eric) London, England, very special niece Anne Starr (Michael) London, England, several nephews, nieces and their children in Canada and England, her best friend of 75 years Joyce Hallet, London, England, and goddaughter Anita Wrubleski (Dale), Winnipeg. Gladys was born on August 29, 1920 in London, England and came to Saskatchewan in May, 1945, one of the many thousands of war brides as they were called. She was a Londoner at heart and found it difficult to adapt to the Saskatchewan prairies so she was very happy when Dad was transferred to Winnipeg in 1968. Gladys was employed for many years at Boots Drug Store in Polo Park retiring in 1988. Our Mum and Nana was an independent, creative and loving person who loved to receive a bouquet of flowers or a letter from friends or family in the mail. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and many were the fortunate recipients of her lovely knitted baby sweaters or crocheted afghans. She never forgot a birthday and loved to shop for that "special something" for Christmas gifts. Our family wishes to thank Ellen, Cheryl, Charlie, Betty, Mylene, Lynn, Sylvia and staff of 3 South, Deer Lodge Centre for their care of Mum over the past several months. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to CancerCare Manitoba, the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba would be an appreciated tribute to Gladys memory. Mum, Nana - enjoy the flowers in Gods eternal garden. You will be forever in our hearts.
