Date of Passing: Aug 11, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFAHMY SAAD SALEM It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather at Victoria General Hospital on August 11, 2004, at the age of 86, preceded by his wife Loulou Banoub of 36 years. Dad will be missed by his daughter Magda (Dr. Kamal) and his son Dr. Fayez (Inas) Salem. Gedo will be missed by his grandchildren, Maryse (Dr. George), Dr. Ihab Louis (Nancy), Tamer, Sandra and Danielle Salem; and his great-grandchildren, Habib and Valerie. He will always be remembered by the stories he told them and his love to teach them the Coptic language. Dad was a distinguished chartered accountant and a banker. He worked in different banks over the years, mainly the Central Bank of Egypt and the IMF, where he founded the Central Banks of Yemen and the Sudan. He leaves to mourn numerous relatives and friends in both Cairo, Egypt and Winnipeg, especially Adel Takla, Mario Costantini, Dr. Magdi Zaki, Dr. Amazis Louka and the rest of the members of St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, where he was an active member. The family would like to thank the homecare workers, Golden Links, and the Rendez-Vous Club. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 15 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, 303 Lakewood Blvd., with Father Marcos Farag officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery at the Mennonite Memorial Gardens at Symington Road. A reception will be held after the interment at the St. Mark Church hall. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Fahmys memory to St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church. Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044
