BARRIE EDMONDSON WILSON (nee CHALMERS) At sunset, on Saturday August 14, 2004, Barrie Edmondson Wilson passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre. Barrie was predeceased by her husband Glenn in March 2004 and sister Maryanne in October of 2001. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Karen Wilson Baptist and husband Lloyd, Glennda Gould and husband Brian, James Wilson and wife Amber; her grandchildren, Jessie, Ian, Leif; also her mother Mary Chalmers; aunt Marjorie Hemsworth and husband Jerry; sister Joan Hartley and husband Harry; brother Bill Chalmers and wife Merle; nieces and nephews, as well as colleagues, friends and neighbours. Barrie was born on February 11, 1935, and spent most of her life in Winnipeg. She graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing in 1957, and spent most of her career working in the Recovery Room at Health Sciences Centre. Her colleagues loved her for her quick wit and wicked sense of humour (Judas Priest!). Barrie enjoyed her flower garden, her grandchildren, shopping, and visits from friends and family (especially those who brought dessert and chocolates). The family would like to thank Pam and Rick Drobot, Barb Sparling, and Sharon Butterworth and the women of PARR who supported Barrie throughout her illness. A very special thank you to Dr. Jan Mulder, Janice Brickley, and the staff of 3 East. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations in Barries memory may be directed to Rossbrook House or a charity of choice. A celebration of Barries life will be held at Thomson in the Park, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21. A reception will follow at 203 Park Blvd. North.
