DORIS GUSTAFSON (nee CARLSON) Following a long and courageous battle, the family announces with deepest sorrow, the passing of Doris Gustafson in the early hours of August 16, 2004 at the age of 80 years. Doris is survived by her husband Eric (Johnny) V. Gustafson; her daughter Janet and her husband Rob Bater, with their children, Chantel, Colin and Bobby; her son Randy Gustafson; also Debbie Vancaeseele, with her children, Scott and Vanessa. In addition, Doris leaves surviving brothers and sisters, Pearl Warren, June Wolfram, Fred (Loreen) Carlson, Budd (Helen) Mager, sister-in-law Marie Carlson and sister-in-law Lorraine Carlson. Doris was predeceased by two brothers, Chester and Edward Carlson. Doris had a zest for life, never complaining about the hardships and challenges associated with her many activities. Doris was a source of inspiration to family members and friends. She loved her family and encouraged them to do their best, to help others and was very proud of their accomplishments. Her efforts will continue with the achievements of her children and grandchildren. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends and family who so desire may make contributions to the charity of their choice, or to the North Eastern Health Association (NEHA) "Palliative Care Unit" in Whitemouth District Health Centre, Henderson Avenue, Whitemouth, MB. Our deepest appreciation to Dr. L. Nel and the caring nurses, staff and volunteers in both the Pinawa Hospital and Whitemouth District Health Centre for their compassion to and care of Doris, and to all who supported family members in these finals days and hours. Cremation has already taken place. A gathering of family, friends and relatives will be held on Sunday, August 22 at the family farm (Gustafson Road, Brookfield) between the hours of 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. Please arrive at your leisure.
