LILLIAN ELEANOR FRIGHT (nee DINNEY) It is with great sadness that our family announces the death of our sister, mother and grandmother Lillian Eleanor Fright. Lillian passed away in Winnipeg, on Thursday, August 19, 2004 with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her husband Bertrum (1977) and leaves to mourn her five children, Gay Anne, Bradley, Kelly (Leah), Cory, and Blair (Sandy) seven grandchildren, Todd, Lindsey, Shea, Kyle, Tyler, Trenton and Brett; beloved brother George Dinney (Nina) of Denver; sister-in-law Marge Dinney; as well as many nieces and nephews. Lillian retired in 1985 after 21 years of service for the Winnipeg Police Department, Training Division. She had two very special longtime friends in the Police Department, Don Wardrop and Lawrence Klippenstein who were there for her after her husbands death and for many years that followed. She was fondly known as "Inspector Fright" and developed many lasting friendships in the Police Department, ones that she treasured deeply. We tend to place value on the lives of those who have built great wealth or celebrity rather than the significant contributions of our world by ordinary people. Lillian was a ordinary person who led an extraordinary life. Wealth and celebrity she had none. Kindness, courage, hope, and most of all love are words that best describe the spirit of Lillian. Her greatest accomplishment was to raise her five children on her own after the early passing of her husband. She provided her children with the values of honesty, trust and compassion that have taken them from childhood to mature adult. Over the past many years Lillian was plagued with many chronic illnesses that had taken their toll on her health. At the end of her life she had no complaints or regrets but only thankfulness for her lifes experience. She was never ordinary; to her family and friends she was always extraordinary and valued. Death is a passage at a point in time. It passes but memory lasts forever. We are left with wonderful memories and photos of a woman who was intelligent, funny, caring, dedicated to her family, strong, hard working and unselfish. In accordance with Lillians wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial service will take place on Tuesday, August 24 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Honourary pallbearers will be her seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers those wishing to remember Lillian can make a contribution to a charity of choice. "We will love you forever."
