Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES JARDINE ADAM (nee YOUNG) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Adam on Thursday, August 19, 2004, at the Grace General Hospital after a lingering illness, at the age of 79 years. Her God-given name was Gloria Vivian Armstrong. Frances was born October 25, 1924, in Toronto, ON, the only child of John Morton Young and Jean MacDonald Young. As a young woman, she attended the Ontario College of Art and then joined the RCAF WID in September 1942, Toronto/Rockcliffe Ottawa until February 1945. She married Ken Adam on September 22, 1945. She is survived by her daughter Lynda; sons, Don (Nancy), David; daughter Mary Jones (Ken) and her grandchildren, Christina, Shawna, Brendon, Richard, Sarah, Kerrigan and Michael. The great-grandchildren are Trey, Ashley, Liam and Alexander. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Ken; and many friends. Mom enjoyed teaching dancing to many children over the years, taking part in parades and concerts. She enjoyed performing song and dance for Agnes Forsythe at the Norwood and the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Golden Agers Show at Pantages. She was a senior bell ringer and a member of the Norman Art Group. She was a longtime member of St. Stephens Broadway Disciples Church where she was also a secretary for 10 years. She was also a Rebekah and P.N.G. (Past-Noble Grand). She was a mentor and taught her children to love art and music, society and the value of religion. We love you and youll be missed by family and friends. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, August 25 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Alzheimers Society, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
