Besides his loving wife Mary, he leaves to mourn a daughter Diane; son Mark (Diane) grandsons, Andrew and Matthew. He was predeceased by a daughter Cindy (1979) his parents, Phillip (1959) and Katherine (1976) brothers, Joe (2002) and Phillip (1989). Steve was born July 26, 1928 in Winnipeg before moving with his parents and brothers to farm at Bruno, SK and then to Selkirk, MB. After his marriage, Steve lived in Winnipeg. Steve worked for Manitoba Hydro and after his retirement he and Mary enjoyed travelling. Steve had a deep love for the land, farming throughout his life, until his illness. Over his lifetime, Steve was always active in the church; including having held positions of Chairman of the Parish Council and President of the Parochial Society. At present he belonged to the Knights of Columbus. For many years he called bingo at St. Josephs Church Hall and at the CGS Hall. He was a blood donor with over 100 donations. Steve will be remembered as a man of deep faith, very honest, hard working and always ready to lend a hand. He was a natural jack of all trades being able to fix almost anything. The family would like to thank all who visited Steve in the hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Lezack, Dr. Finlayson and the Seven Oaks 5th floor unit 2 staff for their care and compassion.
