ERIC KRUGER 1915 - 2004 Eric Kruger died peacefully at the Victoria Hospital on August 20, 2004. Eric is survived by his wife, Margaret Kruger; sons, Barry (Kathy) and Kerry (Janet) grandchildren, Colin, Christina, Curtis and Jessica; a sister Dorothy Manning of Mission, BC. Eric was born in Shackleton, SK and raised in Cheadle, AB. He joined the military in 1943 and served until 1946. He married Margaret in 1946 and raised their family in Elmwood, moving to St. Vital in 1973. Dad was a long-term employee at Ogilivie Flour Mill. He loved his family and friends, and enjoyed discussions provoking spirited conversations. Dad took every opportunity to pass on wisdom and advice to his grandchildren (and anyone else who would listen). Dad faced his major medical conditions with a positive attitude, which carried him through. He was a true optimist. He took his wedding vows very seriously and cared for his wife, especially in the latter years. The family would like to thank the staff at the Victoria Hospital, 5th Floor, and all those who provided care for Dad in his last days. A public viewing will be held Wednesday, August 25 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca
