Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYVONNE RUTH CATAGAS-CHAMBERLAND It is with great sadness that our family announces the death of our sister, mother, grandmother and wife. Yvonne Catagas-Chamberland passed away at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg on Friday, August 20, 2004 with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her mother Virginia Catagas (1982) and leaves to mourn her seven children, Sandra (Calgary), Sheldon (Calgary), George (Edmonton), Maureen (Nebraska), Pricilla (Brantford, ON), Vernan (New Orleans), Jan (Winnipeg) four grandchildren, Colt, Hope, Cheyenne and Jacob; her husband Joseph Chamberland; beloved brothers and sisters, Ralph, Michael, Graham (Lisa), Alice (Henry), Vicky (Abe) and Arlene (Alvin) cousin Bobby James Ironstand; as well as many nieces and nephews. Over the past many years, Yvonne was plagued with many chronic illnesses that had taken their toll on her health. Yvonnes greatest joy involved her family. She was a great supporter and was always encouraging, loving and proud of everything they did. Our happiest memories are of the love and the companionship we shared with our dear sister Yvonne. Her love, her fighting spirit and her infectious positive attitude will never be forgotten. She loved her home reserve of Valley River and her many friends and family there. Honorary pallbearers will be Ian Chamberland, Sheldon Barnes, Chris Spence, Jason Hiebert, Lyle Catagas, Randy Catagas, Mark Demeria and Vincent Catagas. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, August 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave. at Parr, with an all night wake to follow. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 25 at 1:00 p.m. also at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel. Service to terminate at the chapel with cremation to follow.
