BERTHA CHARLTON 1923 - 2004 On August 25, 2004 Bertha, beloved wife of the late Leonard Charlton passed away peacefully at Grace Hospital. Bertha was born in Winnipeg and grew up in St. Vital. She and Len were married in 1947 and had a wonderful 54 years together. In retirement they enjoyed many winters in Arizona and later in Victoria. A member of the McKinnon Guild for over 30 years Bertha loved the time she spent as a volunteer in the "Nearly New Shop". Bertha and Leonard were Members of Knox United Church and later Charleswood United where they were proud to sponsor one of the beautiful new stained glass windows, which Bertha dedicated to Lens memory last year. Bertha was predeceased by her parents, her sister and brother, and in 2001 by her devoted husband and best friend, Len. She will be greatly missed by her cousins, Gerry and Luain Adair and her many very special friends. Berthas strong spirit, her friendship and love will remain with all of us who loved her dearly. "The special years will not return, when we were all together. But with the love within our hearts, you will walk with us forever." Private graveside interment will take place in St. Vital Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 31 in Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in Berthas memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Charity of your choice. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway 1 204-925-1120
